Grape varieties and classification:
Schweigen is naturally rich variety of soils and great locations. This fortunate circumstance also influences the varieties of our winery. Above all are strongly represented the Burgundy family with Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay. This takes around 60 % of our vineyards. It follows the very important Riesling with a share of about 22 %. The rest of the acreage share the Sylvaner, Muscat, Gewürztraminer, Müller-Thurgau, Portugieser, Pinot Meunier and Cabernet Sauvignon. The classification of our wines follows the four-level categorization of VDP by geographical origin.
