Already the Bavarian land registry (1780?) classified the vineyard `Sonnenberg´ as outstanding soil. It is indeed of particular class. The name itself is no riddle, because the slope lies in an ideal manner to the southern sun. It is for that reason planted with the traditionally, demanded grape variety Gewürztraminer. Today the Burgundy family are dominating the field. Against all rules, we planted 30 years ago in a small fillet piece in this location. We were very imaginative to a type of wine with body and fruit from that location and the soil. Meanwhile we appreciate this decision as you can taste and reflect on our Grand Crus Riesling `Sonnenberg´ (VDP.Grosses Gewächs).
